Rotary Screen has a simple construction consisting of a perforated cylindrical body whose diameter and length depends upon the number of gradations of the material needed as well as the capacity requirement. The body has different sized perforation zones all along the length in accordance with the number of gradations needed. The screen is installed at an inclination of about 5o and rotated at about 20 r.p.m.
As the material is fed at the upper end of the body and slides towards the lower end, different sizes are segregated from each perforation zone. The oversize material is discharged at the lower end of the screen.
Rotary Screens are popular for low capacity requirements or at sites where space is a constraint. These are widely used in Mobile Crushing & Screening Plants also.
